Basilica of Lucera
| PLACE OF WORK Country: Italy | City: FOGGIA Cathedral of Lucera, early XIV century A.D. (1300) Micro-abrasion of two different types of local stone bases in the high-density buttresses and cornices and highly brittle terracotta bricks (dating back to 1300). Both bases showed black crusts, salt efflorescences, limestone stains, moss and lichen. The same type of inert material was used for both cases- Garnet with 200 mesh particle size. Pressure and flow parameters were adjusted on a case by case basis, starting from a 0.8-bar pressure up to a maximum of 2.5 bar. Work done throughout 2006 by LA.R.A.
